Fae

about

I wrote Fae the day I received the news that someone I love was diagnosed with cancer. This is the sound of my meditation on the fragility and ephemeral nature of human experience. Thinking on the shortness and uncertainty of our lives can make each moment become even more delicate and precious, like spun glass that requires the most tender touch.

She is now in remission.

Those of you with a musical ear may find this tune familiar. It is the piano composition that Evanescent feat. Al Jewer was built on! Al and I released Evanescent as part of The 52, and I recently shared Fae with some folks on my email list. Thanks to those of you who loved it and encouraged me to release it <3 It really has its own character and a deep, precious meaning for me.
